The Information Technology Division (ITD) is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of electoral services through the practical and secure use of technology within the Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB). The Division works to enhance the efficiency, transparency and inclusivity of electoral processes while ensuring that digital services remain accessible, reliable and user-friendly for all citizens.
The key responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining secure digital systems to facilitate voter access and participation.
Ensuring the integrity and security of electoral data through appropriate cybersecurity measures.
Exploring and implementing relevant and proven technologies to improve election management.
Streamlining operations and promoting cost-effective IT solutions suited to the Bhutanese context.
Planning, budgeting, coordinating and implementing IT systems and services across ECB departments, divisions and Dzongkhag Election Offices.
Supporting theRGoB’s transformation initiatives through aligned IT strategies in the electoral domain.
Building and maintaining a dependable & resilient IT environment that supports credible and transparent elections.
