Pursuant to Section 457 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, the Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB) hereby declares the results of the Thromde Elections held on 15 July 2026 for the two Dzongkhag Thromde Tshogdes of Phuentshogling and Thimphu.

The details of the candidates elected to the Thromde Tshogdes are as follows:

The Demkhong-wise voter turnout and registered voter information are as follows:

1.Phuentshogling

Of the 1168 registered eligible voters (M= 570 & F= 598), 583 (EVM:549 & Postal Ballot:34) cast their votes on the poll day with voter turnout at 49.91%.

2. Thimphu

Of the 9202 registered eligible voters (M= 4271 & F= 4931), 2935 (EVM: 2877 & Postal Ballot: 58) cast their votes on the poll day with voter turnout at 31.90%.

In terms of the overall voter turnout of the two Dzongkhag Thromde Tshogde Elections, 2026, of the 10370 registered eligible voters (M= 4841 & F= 5529), 3518 (EVM: 3426 & Postal Ballot: 92) cast their votes on the poll day with overall voter turnout at 33.92%.

It is hereby being notified to all stakeholders and the general public that the Election Petition Period of 10 days for the Dzongkhag Thromde Elections in Phuentshogling and Thimphu starts today, 16 July 2026 and ends at 5 p.m. on 29 July 2026.
